This section of the site is for models which took part in various races such as Le Mans, Monte Carlo etc. This page shows the Healey Elliott 1949 and 1950 Le Mans cars, and the Bentley 4 1/2 litre 1928 car 'Old Mother Gun' which had considerable racing success. The models are at 1:43 scale.

Healey Elliott Le Mans 1949 and 1950 Limited Edition The total limited edition quantity of Elliott models is 750 This model has been specially commissioned by Marqueart. This car took part in the Le Mans races in 1949 and 1950. Background Le Mans Healey JGO 892 History of Le Mans Elliott JGO 892 (Lots of pictures, so loading may be slow) Note the two petrol filler caps at the rear of the car, the bonnet straps, no bumpers or external mirrors and the racing numbers. Supplied with a certificate of authenticity which includes the limited edition number, and a printed history of the car. The 1949 version is available in Light Silver Grey The 1950 version in Metallic Sage Green. These are believed to be the original colours. |

Healey Elliott Mille Miglia 1948 Targa Florio 1948 Limited Edition The total limited edition quantity of Elliott models is 750 In spring 1948 Italian racing ace Count 'Johnny' Lurani entered an Elliott in the Sicilian Targa Florio race with co-driver Dorino Serafini and finished 13th. This was in a relatively standard and unprepared car, collected from the factory in England and driven across Europe to Sicily only days before the race. In the 1948 Mille Miglia Count Giovanni Lurani, with co-driver Guglielmo Sandri came home 13th overall in a Healey Elliott (low-light), finishing first in the Touring Car Category and achieving a record time. This was the first time that a British car had won the Touring Car Category in the Mille Miglia. The car raced as number 76. It was in Jade Green, had no sunshine roof, and had the registration number GUE 722. |

Bentley 4 1/2 litre 1928 Chassis number ST3001 'Old Mother Gun' Limited Edition of 150. Bentley 4 1/2 litre background This model was the Le Mans winner in 1928. Barnato (Chairman of Bentley Motors from 1926 to 1931) raced Old Mother Gun at Le Mans in 1928. He won the race in spite of a crack in the chassis frame and a top water hose which pulled out on the last lap. British Racing Green. The model now has separate fabric bonnet straps with hand-made wire buckles. There is a tensioning wire between the front wings. |
